An older illustration for the title screen. We felt that the large logo was too bold/distracting. This also was an older version of the character to be represented; but we knew that the character should be a Devil’s Brigade soldier.
Another variation of the Title Screen Illustration. This concept includes all the front end buttons and icon assets, main menus, logo which were all created by me; save for the currency icons. The illustration was more polished but we still felt that stylistically it was different than everything else presented in the game.
This was intended to be an animated Title Screen with subtle motion on the aircraft trails and smoke. Character was posed by a 3D artist, rendered, and I composited it into this image.
This was a slightly earlier concept of the Campaign Company Selection screen. The illustrations, window frames, buttons, and composition were all created by me. Assets in the background were used as placeholder to explore what level of skeuomorphism would be used.
The illustrations were retooled from the in-game portraits I painted. All assets were created by me save for the background map which was created by another artist.
Many of the COH3 screens mostly needed a consistency pass both in art direction, and basic graphic design. Making sure that elements aligned properly for readability and sized proportionately for visual heirarchy.
Some Front End screens I wasn’t able to redesign but simply restricted to doing visual art passes or some tweaks to the actual composition of the screen elements to address consistency, alignment, etc.
These were illustrations composed of painted over 3D assets to be used as icons for the Battlegroups feature of the game.
